Out of the box, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 ships with a powerful set of searchrelated web parts. Despite this fact, you are missing out on a lot of the power that is included in the SharePoint Enterprise Search service if you only stick to using these web parts. SQL Full-Text extensions is the key to accessing this power; this chapter will focus on how to use SQL Full-Text extensions in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. In this chapter, we will look at the architecture of Enterprise Search and discuss how to programmatically use the SharePoint Search service. Finally, you will learn the ins and outs of SQL Full-Text extensions.

If you only need to determine the current location and have no need to continuously poll for location, you should have your location delegate stop the location manager as soon as it gets the information your application needs.
